Sea Turtle Monitoring


What is monitoring?

Monitoring marine turtles allow us to learn more about their populations over time, their health, their behavior and much more.

It involves capturing individuals to gather a series of measurements, assigning each turtle a name, and providing them with a unique identification.

All the information is collected in a regional database that is later analyzed by scientists to generate knowledge that is used to make informed decisions to improve the conservation of this species and habitats.


Duration: 2 hours of activity starting from the capture of the sea turtles.


Includes: Participation in the activity. Transportation to the monitoring site is not included.

Schedule: Each monitoring session is planned at different times due to environmental factors such as the tide level.

Age: There are no age limits for participation.

Location: El Cardón, Laguna San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, México.

Step 4: Send us your payment confirmation.

Step 5: You will receive the confirmation of your reservation along with all the information you need to know for your participation in the monitoring.

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance and are subject to availability.
